Blast From The Past
Munich DJ Florian Keller recently put out a compilation disc of dance tracks on the well-respected German label Compost Records.
Included is my track of Scratchin' 100 Speakers, a session I did in 1984 with Dr. Dre and Unknown -- well, they were both unknown then ;-)
I played DMX drum machine and Oberheim keyboards on the track -- everything except the scratching actually. This Compost Records link has info and a small sample to listen to.
I didn't pay much attention to the track at the time, but it has taken on a life of it's own, and has become quite popular in Germany.

Ska Shank Redemption@The Knitting Factory
My son's band, Ska Shank Redemption played one of their best shows this evening. Great sound on the main stage of Hollywood's Knitting Factory, and a changing of the guard at the trumpet position as Dylan Caponi (center) goes on to college at Cal and "the kid" Luke takes his place.
